The Ford purpose to help build a better world where all people can move around and pursue their dreams freely goes beyond balance sheets and market position. It has led Ford of Mexico to create a unique called "Shared Purpose."
Shared Purpose concentrates different internal volunteer activities into a single effort that aims to have a positive effect on diverse communities across Mexico. The project has three areas of action: Environment; Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) and Corporate Citizenship, where a committee integrated by key employees from strategic areas helps in the management, evolution and communication of projects and volunteer activities.
Programs within each cause tackle different world problems. For example, the Environment cause has initiatives such as the Cuautitlan Stamping and Assembly Plant’s apiary, home to more than 80,000 bees; as well as the constant electronic waste collection campaign. Likewise, the DEI cause include Employees Resource Groups such as Ford Pride, FEDA and others. The successful Ford Schools Program is an outstanding example of how Ford of Mexico has taken up the cause of Corporate Citizenship. With Shared Purpose, our employees join efforts with people from different areas to create actions which benefit the community while they develop new skills such as leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving.
