Norway’s Mesta Takes Delivery of 35 F-150 Lightning Pickups

OSLO, Norway – Norwegian company Mesta, a prominent player in the country’s construction and infrastructure industry, has just added 35 Ford F-150 Lightning pickups to its electrified vehicle fleet.

“It is cheaper for us to choose an electric pickup like the F-150 Lightning, despite the higher purchase price. The operating costs are significantly lower,” says Steffen Olerud, product manager for cars at Mesta. “Overall, this is the car on the market that best meets our needs.”

The electric version of the F-150 pickup, which has been the world's best-selling pickup of all time, can be charged from 15 to 80 percent in 39 minutes with a 150kW fast charger. With a trailer weight capacity of 3.5 tons and plenty of space, it ticks all of the boxes for Mesta.

Acting CEO Tonje G. Jensen says Mesta will order more F-150 Lightnings going forwards: “Now we have to have a talk about who really needs these pickups. Because we will not buy more than we actually need. But we have never had such a great interest in an electric vehicle among our employees.”

CEO of Ford Motor Norway, Per Gunnar Berg, told @Ford: “We are incredibly proud to deliver an initial 35 electric F-150 Lightnings to Mesta. When one of Norway's largest and most sustainable contractors concludes that this is the first choice for a zero-emission pickup with high towing capacity, raw accessibility, very good space and a safe and comfortable working environment, it says a lot. This is an unbeatable environmentally friendly and uncompromising workhorse.”
