Committed to Standards, Driven by Improvement, Ford Global FPS & Six Sigma Director Rima Jasser Visits Changan Ford

In early March, Rima Jasser, Ford's Global Director FPS and Six Sigma visited Changan Ford, touring the Hangzhou Branch, Chongqing Vehicle Assembly Plant, and Powertrain Plant. Zhang Junyan, Vice President of Production Logistics at Changan Ford, along with the plant management teams, joined Rima in conducting on-site visits to review the implementation of the Global Ford Production System (GFPS), lean improvement achievements, and digital transformation progress. They also discussed the application of new standards and tools, injecting new momentum into Changan Ford's manufacturing system optimization and digital transformation.

During the on-site visits, the plant teams showcased numerous best practice cases related to safety, cost reduction, and efficiency improvement. They highlighted recent initiatives and results in areas such as heat map utilization, quality management, production efficiency enhancement, and digital construction. These examples demonstrated the critical role of the Ford Production System in foundational production management. Rima was deeply impressed by the culture of continuous improvement and the clean, organized production lines. She commended the plant management teams for their pursuit of excellence and dedication to ongoing improvement.

At the concluding meeting, Rima expressed her excitement about revisiting Changan Ford after a decade. She acknowledged Changan Ford's consistent adherence to the Ford Production System, its promotion of continuous improvement across all levels, and its flexible application of digital tools. Rima also provided eight recommendations and hopes, including strengthening teamwork and enhancing the application of lean tools.

Zhang Junyan, on behalf of Changan Ford, thanked Rima for her valuable suggestions. He emphasized the importance of adhering to standards and pursuing continuous improvement, urging all teams to focus on inputs and processes, strengthen fundamental skills, and leverage digital tools to enhance efficiency.

Rima's visit served not only as an audit of achievements but also as an opportunity for self-evaluation and future planning. Moving forward, Changan Ford's manufacturing team will continue to uphold the principle of "continuous improvement," delivering higher-quality results under the guidance of the Ford Production System.
