Ford & Churchill Downs: Off to the Races

Mar 19, 2025

While many associate Ford with Michigan, we have deep roots in other states, like Kentucky, where we’ve been an active part of the community for over 100 years. So, I’m proud to share that today Ford and Churchill Downs Racetrack have agreed to a renewal of our long-standing collaboration — making Ford the exclusive automotive sponsor of Churchill Downs Racetrack and the Kentucky Derby through 2029.

What better way to celebrate the deep-rooted community connection between the Blue Oval and the Bluegrass state than by continuing our sponsorship of these Kentucky icons? Today, Ford employs over 12,000 hard-working Kentuckians, and we take great pride in playing an active role in the community.

As part of our sponsorship, Ford is expanding our presence at Churchill Downs Racetrack to include renaming the First Turn Club to the Ford First Turn Club, offering guests a distinctive race-day experience with prime views and upscale amenities at the track’s first turn.

The Kentucky Derby is built on tradition and long-standing partnerships. We look forward to continuing to work together to deliver unforgettable experiences for Derby fans and attendees.

On Derby Day, Ford will highlight our winning lineup of new vehicles, from Bronco to Mustang Mach-E. We’ll also introduce new Ford-themed experiences to engage with local fans and celebrate the proud history of America’s longest-running sport event.

Several displays will include locally assembled Ford vehicles, like the all-new Ford Expedition and F-Series Super Duty. Ford is the largest vehicle assembler in Kentucky, and both Super Duty and Expedition are proudly built at our Louisville-based Kentucky Truck Plant. Like the proud Louisville community where these vehicles are assembled, both are examples of what happens when you put passion to work.

I’m incredibly proud to see the next chapter in Ford and Kentucky’s relationship come to life.

The 151st running of the Kentucky Derby will take place on Saturday, May 3, 2025. For more information on the Kentucky Derby and Churchill Downs Racetrack, visit www.kentuckyderby.com.
