Recently, our Dubai office in the Middle East transformed into a vibrant celebration of cherished childhood memories as we honored the tradition of Hag Al Laila. This popular Emirati tradition was brought to life with the nostalgic theme of "Dukan Al Taybeen" (The Old Grocery), inviting our team to embark on a cultural journey that transcends generations.
Hag Al Laila, observed on the 14th day of Sha'ban-just 15 days before the holy month of Ramadan- is a unique occasion for communities to unite in joy and celebration. Much like the festivities observed in neighboring Gulf countries, this event nurtures connections that resonate with shared values and traditions.
For our diverse team, representing various corners of the globe, this event was a meaningful platform to engage with the rich cultural heritage of the UAE. The enchanting atmosphere of "Dukan Al Taybeen", adorned with traditional decorations, evoked nostalgia and wonder. This celebration highlighted the beauty of the Emirati culture and emphasized the importance of inclusivity in the workplace. Engaging group activities were design to enhance cultural knowledge, teamwork, and collaboration, all while adding an element of fun to the day’s proceedings. These shared experiences cultivated a deeper sense of community within our Dubai office, reinforcing the profound impact of cultural appreciation in strengthening interpersonal relationships.
As Ford Middle East continues to champion cultural awareness and inclusivity, events like Hag Al Laila not only celebrate the rich "glocalized" traditions but also weave a stronger, more connected community within our organization.
