Tell us about your role at Ford. What do you love about your job?
I’m an indirect purchasing buyer supporting several business divisions with purchasing, procurement, and contract management, including strategy creation and execution. I've been with Ford for 20 thrilling years! Currently, I'm working on the upcoming training facility in Calamba, Laguna, that is slated for completion in Q4 2025. I love collaborating with new people, and seeing the plans for the future site is incredibly exciting. It feels like I’m building a legacy.
Tell us about some life experiences that have helped shape you personally and/or professionally.
Growing up in Santa Rosa, Laguna, as the eldest of three, I learned resilience early on. Our family business struggled when I was in college, so I became the breadwinner and put my siblings through school. This experience has taught me to embrace challenges, dream big, and accept anything life throws my way.
What are some of your career highlights at Ford?
My initial role was a one-month contract in public affairs supporting the launch of Ford Lynx, the first Philippines-made Ford vehicle, and the Philippines plant in Santa Rosa. Since then, I've been impressed by the people I've worked with – from plant operators and high-ranking government officials to Bill Ford himself. Every moment has inspired me to work hard and contribute to the success of the Ford family.
Who inspires you and why?
My family – my husband (whom I met at Ford) and my two adorable sons – are my biggest inspiration. They always bring out the best in me. Outside of work, I cherish family time, “me-time”, and dates with my husband. We love travelling, exploring new cuisines, and experiencing different cultures.
What are your New Year’s resolutions for 2025?
My husband and I share a passion for baking and we used to run a small business making cakes for family and friends. I’ve had my hands full with my two kids in the past year, but I hope to start baking again this year. Baking allows me to express myself, experiment with new flavours, and share the joy of trying something new with others.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
I love seeking new experiences to expand my knowledge and personal interests. I recently took a short food and beverage services course at Tesda and loved the napkin folding activities. It’s incredibly therapeutic, like origami.
What do you hope to achieve in the future?
I want a fulfilling life filled with continuous learning, growth, and positive influence. I aim for greatness in my career, relationships, and personal pursuits, and I hope to leave a lasting legacy, especially for my two boys. As Henry Ford said, "Whether you think you can, or you think you can't – you're right."
