Michigan Central – Detroit’s one-time gateway to the world – will now provide female entrepreneurs with a gateway to innovation, empowerment and growth thanks to a new partnership with Femology, a community movement created to help empower women entrepreneurs.
The collaboration between Michigan Central and Femology was made official Saturday with the Femology headquarters’ grand opening in the Newlab building. The state-of-the-art space will serve as the central hub for Femology’s programming, events and community-building efforts, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to providing a vibrant and inspiring environment for women to connect, learn and grow.
Michigan Central is a 30-acre technology and cultural hub in Detroit’s Corktown neighborhood, where innovators and entrepreneurs can come together to collaborate on ground-breaking solutions to global probelms. The centerpiece of the campus is the former train station, Michigan Central Station, which recently reopened after a six-year restoration by Ford.
Since its grand opening last year, various Ford teams have moved into offices at MCS, including the Ford Model e Customer Division and Integrated Services team members. To date, approximately 1,000 Ford employees work on the Michigan Central campus.
“This collaboration between Femology and Michigan Central is more than a partnership – it’s a bold step toward reshaping the future of entrepreneurship for women across the globe,” said Meagan Ward, Femology founder. “With less than 3% of women-led high-growth ventures receiving adequate capital, we are determined to change that narrative. Together, we’re building a curriculum that equips women to rise, thrive and leave an indelible mark on the world.”
The grand opening also marks the launch of Femology’s Female Founder School. Yearlong sessions will be tailored to empower women entrepreneurs, whether they’re in the early ideation stage or have more firmly established projects that are ready to launch.
Program participants will enjoy benefits such as access to a vetted community of female entrepreneurs, monthly educational workshops, a local and global support network, discounts to signature events, monthly wellness workshops, and more.
Women interested in attending the Female Founder School can apply here.
“Together, Femology and Michigan Central will craft an entrepreneurial experience that is unparalleled in its reach and impact, offering female founders the tools they need to drive their ventures to new heights,” said Michigan Central COO and Head of Innovation Carolina Pluszczynski. “At Michigan Central we are building one of the most inclusive and equitable tech hubs in the world, modeling Detroit’s innovation ecosystem as a framework for national change.”
