VALENCIA, Spain – Ford’s award-winning Ranger is the latest recruit to join the Provincial Fire Brigade Consortium of Valencia.
The emergency service has invested half a million euros in six new Ford Ranger off-road vehicles that will be deployed in the six main parks of Sagunt, Torrent, Gandia, Paterna, Requena and Alzira to provide rapid response to any emergencies that may arise.
Each of the four-wheel drive vehicles are equipped with a portable Advanced Control Station (PMA). In the loading area a removable tray provides space for gas detectors, reserve stations, personal clothing bags and autonomous breathing equipment.
Powered by a 210-horsepower engine, the Rangers also come equipped with a 3,500 kg capacity winch, emergency lights bridge and trailer hitch.
The president of the provincial institution, Vicent Mompó, said: “These investments reflect the involvement of this government team with the professionals of the Consortium and by extension, with all Valencians because our objective is to ensure that firefighters perform their work with the best possible tools, increasing security for them and citizens.”
