Our hearts go out to those affected by the devastating fires in Southern California. Ford has always shown up for communities, and we are committed to being there for the greater Los Angeles area now and over the long journey ahead.
Our first priority remains the safety of our affected employees, dealers and their teams. To the best of our knowledge, all are safe and accounted for at this time and we are immensely thankful for that.
We are also in close touch with Ford Philanthropy’s longtime partners American Red Cross, Feeding America and Team Rubicon, who are providing food, shelter and other forms of emergency assistance. They are doing an amazing job, and we are proud to support their work.
Jan. 23, 2025 – Today, Ford dealers across 13 western states join Ford Philanthropy donations to the California Community Foundation's Wildfire Recovery Fund. These contributions will support local Los Angeles County wildfire relief efforts.
Additionally, Ford is also launching the following initiatives to assist our electric vehicle owners within the FEMA Designated Disaster area:
- BlueOval™ Charge Network California Wildfires Reimbursement. Ford will reimburse all public charging sessions initiated through the BlueOval Charge Network within the designated FEMA disaster area, between January 7 and 31 2025.
- Ford Fast Charging Adapters are available to provide additional charging options at Tesla Supercharger stations for customers with immediate charging needs, such as those who lost access to their home charger or are using their vehicles for disaster relief. Ford dealerships in the impacted area will receive a limited number of adapters to distribute free of charge.
- Ford Power Promise: If a customer received a complimentary home charger and standard installation through Ford Power Promise and subsequently lost their home in the fires, Ford will replace their charger and cover the cost of a standard installation for a replacement charger.
January 20, 2025 – Today, Ford and its philanthropic arm, Ford Philanthropy, are announcing two additional contributions to help address urgent community needs:
- A grant to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation
- A grant to the California Community Foundation Wildfire Fund
In addition, Ford Credit is offering customers breathing room as they rebuild. Affected customers may request payment extensions on their contracts and anyone financing new vehicles with Ford Credit may qualify for first-payment deferrals.
These contributions build on the company’s substantial, ongoing support for our partners on the ground. We know Southern California is facing a difficult aftermath, and we are committed to supporting our partners as they help rebuild the impacted communities.
“We will continue to do everything we can to help, and right now, our focus is on urgent, critical needs — that includes helping to ensure the firefighters and first responders who are risking their lives are cared for and supported,” said Ford President and CEO Jim Farley. “Our thoughts are with the people of the greater Los Angeles area as they take on the long road ahead of them.”
Jim Farley has spoken with Ford employees, dealers, and friends in the area, some of whom have evacuated or lost their homes, to convey his concern and seek input on ways we can help.
“Helping communities recover and rebuild from disasters is not just what we do as a philanthropy, it's who we are as a company,” said Mary Culler, president of Ford Philanthropy. “It’s heart-breaking to see the scale of how much people have lost. We will continue to support Southern California long after the current attention fades, as we are doing with other communities affected by disasters globally.”
Many Ford employees have already reached out to offer help and, as always, we are grateful for their generous, caring spirit. Please see below for ways to contribute:
