GOODWOOD, UK – Ford’s awesome all-electric Supervan 4.2 was the fastest vehicle to run up the hill at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The machine, driven by Le Mans winner legend Romain Dumas, took just 43.98 seconds to negotiate the famous hill climb which is 1.17miles/1.89km long, with a 304ft/92.7m uphill ascent.

Such was Supervan 4.2’s dominance, it beat the second fastest vehicle up the hill by more than two seconds.

Doug Field, Ford’s chief EV, digital and design officer, got to experience Supervan 4.2’s performance first hand as a passenger. He told @Ford: “I had a chance to ride with Romain up the hill, which was an unbelievable experience.

“It’s great to see how electric changes the game in the motorsport environment. It is very hard to keep up with this thing for any other cars, even those that are shockingly exotic. McLarens with V12s, they can’t hold a candle to this thing.”
