Ford BlueCruise for hands-free highway driving is now available for customers use in a total of 17 countries globally across Europe, the U.S. and Canada. Recently, BlueCruise was approved for use across 15 countries in Europe by the European Commission, joining Great Britain, Germany and Spain. Now, additional countries include Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, and Sweden.

In Europe, this unlocks access to more than 82,744 miles of designated highways across Europe, called Blue Zones, allowing customers to take a road trip across multiple countries. Imagine the possibilities for a customer who could use BlueCruise across six countries – from Sweden down south to Italy – almost 1,864 miles and 25+ hours spent driving hands-free.

BlueCruise has gained momentum globally over the last year. In 2023, when BlueCruise launched in Great Britain, became the first advanced driver assistance system that delivers true hands-free driving at highway speeds in Europe. Last year, Ford was the first automaker to receive approval in Spain and introduce hands-free highway driving, and BlueCruise also rolled out to customers in Germany.

We believe BlueCruise can make highway driving easier and more enjoyable whether you are in stop-and-go traffic or on a long road trip, and with this recent ruling it will allow us to offer even more customers access to BlueCruise across Europe. Expanding the availability of Blue Zones beyond Great Britain, Germany and Spain is also a huge milestone for us, allowing customers to use BlueCruise for a multi-country road trip.

In the U.S., BlueCruise was also recognized as Consumer Reports top-rated Active Driver Assistance system, two times in a row. BlueCruise received a 9/10 score in the categories of “capabilities and performance,” “keeping the driver engaged,” and “clear when safe to use.”

This year in North America, Ford has already expanded the availability of BlueCruise onto more electric, hybrid and gas-powered Ford and Lincoln vehicles, including the 2025 Ford Explorer and 2025 Lincoln Aviator SUVs. With Aviator deliveries beginning this summer, all Lincoln U.S. models will have available BlueCruise. In Europe, BlueCruise is currently available on the Mustang Mach-E.

This expansion in Europe is a milestone for our team globally, as we work to deliver on our 2024 objective to bring BlueCruise technology to even more customers.
