DUNTON, UK – Ford Pro is helping businesses switch to electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles with the introduction of a new home charging solution for UK customers, designed to help maximise vehicle uptime and drive productivity.
Available now, the home charging solution compiles hardware, software, installation, and aftercare, all of which are delivered by Ford Pro. Product information and consultation bookings are now available via this website.
Ford Pro's smart chargers deliver 7.4kW charging, with up to 22kW also available. These smart chargers also come with a certified energy meter for accurate energy data, to support driver reimbursement. For added peace of mind, the chargers are backed by a robust 5-year hardware warranty and a 3-year installation warranty in the UK.
The Ford Pro Charging Software provides full visibility and control over fleet charging, across home and depot on a single platform. Customers can manage the time settings of their charger using smart time-based controls to minimise their charging costs for off peak charging, and they can view charging data on demand or set up automatic reports to suit their schedule.
The launch comes on the back of a successful UK customer trial with the RAC, and an additional in-house trial with employees.
Ford Pro’s Home Charging Solution was developed by a global team, including these colleagues pictured at Dunton’s new charging test station.
The RAC needed a reliable charging solution to support the rollout of electric vehicles for their fleet. As their drivers keep these vehicles at home overnight, the Ford Pro Charging team supported them with the installation of 32 home chargers.
Ford Pro Charging lead Alan McCleave told @Ford: “Our Ford Pro Charging Software and automated central billing solution enables the RAC to easily reimburse its drivers for charging at home. This guarantees drivers are not left out of pocket, ensuring vehicles are charged every night with minimal admin burden for the fleet manager. This is just one example of our solution driving productivity for our customers. We are excited to continue to support the RAC in their electrification journey.”
Launched initially in the UK only, Ford Pro’s Home Charging solution was developed by a pan-European team with support from colleagues in the US and will be rolled out across more European markets in 2025.
Alan added: “Our home charging solution helps business customers make a smooth transition to a plug in/electric fleet while maintaining uptime and productivity.”
