Ford Equator Sport PHEV: Redefining Laid-back Adventure with a Plug-in Hybrid SUV

The all-new Ford Equator Sport PHEV boasts a muscular and imposing silhouette with sculpted lines that balance rugged appeal with everyday elegance. The front fascia has been redesigned with a more angular hood, amplifying its geometric appearance and elevating the hood profile. In tandem with the more muscular front fenders, the design yields a more robust look. The obsidian front grille features a striking through-going design that visually emphasizes the car’s width. Coupled with the trapezoidal bumper, which provides a sense of protection, the front end conveys an assertive and unyielding appeal. The iconic L-shaped ice-crystal headlights, a signature element of the Ford Beyond family, feature simple yet distinctive lines that create a rich layered effect. Paired with the latest 15mm ultra-compact LED lens module, which integrates high and low beams, the headlights illuminate the road with confidence and style.

The all-new Ford Equator Sport PHEV distinguishes itself from its gasoline counterpart with enhanced darker and deeper accents, provide a more progressive, stronger and high-tech impression. The theme continues with the 20-inch oversized wheels finished in elevated piano black, which feature geometric blocks that extend longitudinally to create a dynamic vortex effect when the wheels are in motion. The sporty and dynamic look is well-suited for both urban and outdoor adventures. The L-shaped taillights and the transverse piano black trim at the lower bumper mirror the front end design, reinforcing the Equator Sport’s muscular and squared-off appearance. 

The all-new Ford Equator Sport PHEV is available in seven colors, including two fresh outdoor inspired tones: Oasis Green and Cactus Grey. Oasis Green, is an all new exclusively designed color for the new car. Inspired by the lush vegetation and a spirited escape into the wilderness, the paint color sports a vibrant tonal metallic green color with enhanced contrasting pearlescent pigments. This creates a rich and sophisticated appeal that provides perfect balance of luxury and youthfulness to the car. Cactus Grey, reminiscent of sun-bleached desert terrain, accentuates the Equator Sport’s rugged and durable character. This classic shade from the Ford Beyond family is now introduced on the Equator Sport for the first time. These outdoor-inspired tones give the new car the look of a stylish mountaineering jacket, perfectly capturing the beauty and vitality of the natural world.

Ultra-Wide, Resort-Like Interior Highlights Relaxation

“Width” was a pivotal design focus throughout the design of the all-new Ford Equator Sport, from its exterior to its interior. The Ford China Design Center team aimed to create a soothing, resort-like atmosphere within this SUV by using horizontal lines throughout the cabin of the all-new Ford Equator Sport PHEV to create a more spacious feeling. The inviting interior design ensures a relaxing and enjoyable journey for all passengers starting from the moment they settle in.

Different from its gasoline counterpart, the all-new Ford Equator Sport PHEV provides the customers with a more energizing experience. The colour expression is modern, lightweight, tonal and with splashes of exhilarating accent colour. Nano Gray brings a nice softness to the black interior, adding nice contrast to the seating and trim elements. The zest accent colour wraps around the entire interior and highlights all the soft touch accent pieces, adding both quality and personality. For those who prefer high contrast and a brighter impression in the interior cabin, the light urban gray creates an inviting, home-like atmosphere, complemented by zest accent color stitching that adds a premium touch and distinct personality. 

Meanwhile, CMF designers developed the materials and concept via directly referencing active outdoor goods that capture a youthful and active lifestyle. Some textured carbon details are added to give a more technical feel to the décor items, further elevated by the Satin Aluminium plated accents.
