Why did Courtney Owens choose to become a team member at the Lima Engine Plant?
“Ford is one of the good places to work here in Lima,” she says. And there are many reasons for that, as she shares in her “why” in this video.
Courtney works in machining at Lima. Ford has also opened doors for her to highlight her skills as a published poet and public speaker, including a performance of a poem about Ford workers at the Lima Family Open House this summer.
She sees Ford opening doors for more than just her, personally—her son now works on the same line she started on. She believes Ford is preparing him well for whatever field he chooses. Jokingly, her son likes to say they’re the “LeBron and Bronny” of the Lima Engine Plant—a duo that’s got each other’s backs both on and off the line.
That family feeling extends beyond her and her son to the entire plant and Ford. “We are more than just making engines for Ford products,” she says. “We are indeed a family.”
