All-new Ford Equator Sport PHEV and Equator PHEV SUVs Officially Launched - Ford Hybrid Family Showcased at 2024 Guangzhou Auto Show

The all-new Ford Equator Sport PHEV and Ford Equator PHEV feature high-power lithium iron phosphate battery packs from CATL and are equipped with 52.5Ah high-power cells specifically designed for hybrid vehicles. The models come with an energy capacity of 18.4KWh, and a CLTC all-electric range that reaches up to 115km and 110km, respectively. Additionally, the battery pack has a peak charging rate of up to 3C, enabling an industry-leading fast-charging efficiency of 14 minutes for a 30-80 percent SOC (State of Charge) replenishment.

The all-new Ford Equator Sport PHEV and Ford Equator PHEV are also equipped with a 1.5T engine specifically designed for hybrid vehicles, which achieves a high thermal efficiency of 43.52 percent. This results in a CLTC fuel consumption of 4.3L/100km and 4.75L/100km, respectively, when the vehicle is running under battery-depleted conditions, as well as a CLTC comprehensive range of 1,324km and 1,205km, respectively.

Complementing the 1.5T hybrid-specific engine is a 2DHT hybrid transmission (Dual Motor, Dual Clutch Hybrid Transmission) that comprehensively integrates dual motors and electronic controls and offers a compact and lightweight design. This setup delivers improved power during high-speed acceleration, with the all-new Ford Equator Sport PHEV and Ford Equator PHEV reaching 0-100km/h acceleration in 7.5 seconds and 7.7 seconds, respectively.

The all-new Ford Equator Sport PHEV boasts a remarkably spacious interior, with a body width of 1,935mm and a wheelbase of 2,726mm. Best-in-class center aisle space of 295mm, combined with a flat rear floor, offers an exceptionally comfortable riding experience. The all-new Ford Equator PHEV features a class-leading body size and unique seating layout, with an extra-long wheelbase of 2,865mm that provides ample legroom, and a 2/2/3 seating arrangement that offers a first-class cabin-like, independent seating experience in the second row.

The much-anticipated iconic off-road convertible, Ford Bronco, as well as the midsize pickup truck Ford Ranger — which has sold over 8 million units globally and holds the number one spot in the Chinese market for pickup trucks priced above 150,000 RMB — was also featured at the Guangzhou Auto Show. Ford is accelerating supply of the Black Diamond and Black Diamond Sasquatch models of Ford Bronco. Customers can now pre-order both models at authorized Ford Beyond dealers.

As one of the highlights of the Ford booth at this year’s Guangzhou Auto Show, the FHEV lineup delivers breakthroughs in energy-saving and performance, as well as the advantage of not needing charging piles, effectively addressing key concerns among EV and PHEV users.

Ford Mondeo 1.5T FHEV delivers a high-quality driving experience with low fuel consumption and long range, for car ownership that is both cost-effective and convenient. With a fuel consumption of just 3L/100KM, it offers a cost of driving that rivals that of pure electric vehicles; the 1.5T EcoBoost engine provides a surge of power, while a super-long range of 1,051 km eliminates range anxiety.

All-new Ford Mondeo Sport FHEV features a higher body and enhanced pass ability, with a 5-door crossover coupe design and ground clearance of 168mm when fully loaded. With an ultra-long wheelbase of 2,945mm, it delivers an exceptionally spacious interior and a trunk capacity that can be expanded up to 1,550L. Ford Mondeo Sport FHEV also boasts 308 horsepower, with a high-speed fuel consumption as low as 4.1L per 100km, and a comprehensive range of up to 915 km under WLTC, making it the top performer in its class in terms of powerful performance – while also being as economical as an EV.
