BUDAPEST, Hungary - Around 40 colleagues from Ford Business Solutions and Ford of Hungary took part in a “Pink Walk” in Budapest earlier this month to help raise awareness of the importance of early detection and prevention of breast cancer.

Colleagues, family members and even furry friends all came together to march across the impressive Chain Bridge of Budapest wearing pink jackets and holding balloons. The walk was organised by the Women of Ford Team with the lead of Beata Sindler, Regional Communications Manager, as part of a larger event, organised by Health Bridge Alliance Against Breast Cancer.

Judit Maros, who participated at the Pink Walk from Ford Business Solutions Hungary, said: “The Pink Walk and educative sessions on breast cancer are organised every year now in early October in Budapest.  People and companies who support the cause march together on the iconic Chain Bridge of Budapest – lit in pink as well – to raise awareness of the topic. It was amazing to see so many colleagues from Ford marching for this great cause.”

According to the World Health Organisation, breast cancer caused 670,000 deaths globally in 2022, and was the most common cancer in women in 157 countries out of 185 that year.

Roughly half of all breast cancers occur in women with no specific risk factors other than sex and age. Approximately 0.5–1 per cent of breast cancers occur in men.
