Ford Nanjing Family Day 2024 has officially begun. Ford China CEO Sam Wu sent his gratitude and well wishes to employees and their families via video, in which he thanked the families for being the solid foundation of support for every employee's hard work and for being the driving force that propels them forward. Sam also warmly welcomed the families to Ford, to better understand and appreciate the company, and to support us in building a brighter future together.
Sam Wu sent video greetings at the opening since he was on business trip, Jim Hughes, Elaine Hong, and Jerry Lin were among the leaders present to joyfully kick off this year’s Family Day. They also handed out surprise gifts to the children.
Ford's star models were all on showcase for the event. Overnight, the REC campus was transformed into a large amusement park, featuring interactive games like a human claw machine and LEGO building, along with activities such as AI photography and VR racing. It's no exaggeration to say that people of all ages, both young and old, were thoroughly enjoying themselves at Family Day.
Additionally, in the VR lab, families could experience the Lincoln Nautilus in virtual reality. In the electronics lab, engineers explained the "veins" of the car – its various electronic harnesses and how they connect to all the power screens and lights. In the disassembly lab, a whole vehicle was taken apart into components for everyone to see. Engineers introduced each part, explaining mechanisms inside the doors and how the car windows go up and down.
In the MakerSpace, hands-on courses organized by the STEM team were incredibly popular with the guests. The children even participated in a challenge to independently assemble a Ford F-150 equipped with a solar panel within half an hour.
Every October marks Global Breast Health Awareness Month, so Ford volunteers also set up booths offering various small items for charity sale. All proceeds from these sales will be donated to support breast cancer patients.
Finally, we would like to express our gratitude to all the organizers who, over several months, meticulously planned and prepared Family Day in their spare time. They worked late into the night to create an unforgettable experience that exceeded the expectations of over 2,000 participants. We also thank all the volunteers and staff on site for maintaining impeccable order and taking great care of every attendee at Ford Nanjing Family Day 2024, both “big” and small.
