Ford is lowering the annual and monthly prices for its BlueCruise hands-free highway driving technology for all Canadian customers with equipped vehicles. The company is also simplifying how new vehicle owners access the feature while continuing to offer flexible options.

Activation, Flexibility, and Pricing Details

BlueCruise activation will be even simpler, with both a one-year plan and a one-time purchase option. The one-year plan will be either standard or optional, depending on the vehicle and trim level. Ford customers can choose to upgrade to a one-time purchase and won’t need to activate BlueCruise again on their vehicle.

Additionally, Ford will continue to offer a 90-day complimentary trial to customers who don't select a one-year plan (if not included standard) or the one-time purchase when they order their vehicle. Customers can experience hands-free driving for 90 days and then have the flexibility to activate the annual or monthly plan at the end of the trial based on their needs. For example, a customer could activate BlueCruise for a monthlong road trip and not activate it again for a year or could choose to activate it only during the holiday season when they travel most.

“BlueCruise availability expands across 2025 model-year vehicles and trims to give more customers who want an electric, hybrid, or gas-powered Ford vehicle access to hands-free highway driving,” said Akbar Sheikh, connected vehicle marketing manager, Ford of Canada. “In Canada, BlueCruise is now available on a number of vehicles across our Ford lineup, including Explorer, Expedition, F-150, F-150 Lightning, and Mustang Mach-E.”

The details:

  • For 2025 model-year vehicles, the one-year plan will either be included standard or as an option at vehicle order for $650 CDN, based on the vehicle line and trim.
  • Starting on select 2025 model-year vehicle lines, 2025 Mustang Mach-E, and 2025 Expedition, the one-time purchase will be available at vehicle order for $3,295 CDN MSRP. The company will share additional details in the future around one-time purchase options for other vehicle lines.
  • The new pricing plan for all Ford owners with BlueCruise-equipped vehicles is $650 CDN annually and $64.99 CDN monthly, effective November 1, 2024. BlueCruise customers with annual and monthly plans will see the price drop reflected on their next payment.

This change follows last year's rollout of the BlueCruise flexible offering and the inclusion of standard factory-installed BlueCruise hardware.

The Customer Focus

“We are always listening to customer and dealer feedback, and this change in offering is a result of us responding to that feedback,” said Sheikh. “Since rolling out our flexible offering across 2024 model-year vehicles, we are seeing that customers who love BlueCruise are choosing to buy it up-front, and others are choosing to activate monthly or annually. As a result, we are going to continue to give customers flexibility and choices for how they activate this technology.”

BlueCruise can help drivers arrive at their destination less fatigued and more energized, whether commuting in stop-and-go traffic or on a long road trip. Globally, there are more than 537,000 BlueCruise-equipped vehicles on the road. Customers in the U.S. and Canada have also spent over 3.8 million hours enjoying and using BlueCruise and have driven more than 258 million hands-free miles.
