The scene was set, complete with an outdoor motif and camping gear, for both media and Ford of Canada employees to linger longer while getting to know the all-new 2025 Ford Expedition as the SUV made its Canadian debut in Oakville, Ontario, followed by Montreal, Québec. Nearly three decades after its launch, Expedition continues to help families maximize their time together in a vehicle designed to provide versatility, capability, and style.

Introducing the All-New Ford Expedition

“We’re excited to introduce the all-new Ford Expedition, the fifth generation of Ford’s flagship SUV,” said Scott Kuzma, vehicle line marketing manager, Ford of Canada. “As the large SUV segment evolves, the customer for that segment is evolving as well. We are now seeing young millennial families who live complex lives, and this new Expedition is a great opportunity for us to attract these customers.”

The all-new Expedition, redesigned from top to bottom and front to back, features a new exterior and interior, an updated engine, and the Ford Digital Experience.

“We talked to more than 1,000 customers and drivers of competing vehicles in this segment to identify opportunities for improvement,” said Kuzma. “We asked them what they liked and disliked. We even had them send us vacation videos showing how they used their Expeditions. This research gave us valuable customer insights that drove our winning aspiration — to inspire families to make the most of their time together.”

Helping Families Linger Longer

With features like the Ford Split Gate, third-row flexible seating, and the Flex Power Console that slides to the rear to allow for more storage, Expedition is a one-car wonder that helps create memories to last.

Ford also knows travel is better together, and that enjoyable journeys are created through intuitive technology that inspires confidence, keeps everyone connected, and provides entertainment. For the driver, a 24-inch panoramic digital display brings key information into view and aids in keeping eyes on the road, and BlueCruise technology helps more customers experience stress-free, hands-free highway driving. Second-row passengers can use the all-new Digital Device Holder, along with the new Ford Connectivity Package, to bring their content and stay connected.

The Expedition also enriches everyday moments. Everyone will want to linger longer with the exterior Zone Lighting and the Ford Split Gate, which, with the available Cargo Tailgate Manager, turns into a table.

After a vehicle walk-around, Ford of Canada Headquarters employees in Oakville complimented the all-new Expedition's attractive exterior, calling it the best-looking SUV in its class. They also lauded its innovative features, particularly the Ford Split Gate, Ford Digital Experience, and Digital Device Holder. Media described it as big and bold, handsomely rugged, clean and classy, an oasis of comfort and flexibility, as well as smarter and more practical.

The Adventure Didn’t Stop There

For media in Oakville and Montreal, the experience continued. Following the Expedition walk-around, they spent time with the new 2025 Ford Explorer, including a test-drive to experience the Ford Digital Experience (the Explorer was the first Ford vehicle with this technology) and hands-free highway driving with BlueCruise (a first for the Explorer).

Ford Explorer sales surged 56.6% in September and 14.1% year-to-date, continuing to appeal to Canadian drivers who value its ruggedness. From the start, the Explorer has represented the road less traveled, showcasing the vehicle's capabilities in unexpected places.

The redesigned 2025 Ford Explorer captures that pioneering spirit for a new generation, offering seating for up to seven passengers, connectivity features, and the ability to explore. This best-ever Explorer boasts a redesigned interior with new materials, colors, and textures; larger digital displays; and an available wireless charging pad. It also features bolder exterior styling, more standard equipment, advanced technologies, and two proven powertrains.

Media noted the value, quality materials, and great new tech, while describing the SUV as a well-rounded choice, cozy and versatile, with a cabin that adds a touch of class.

"It's hard to believe, but the Explorer is nearly 35 years young, with the first generation launching in 1990. It was a revolution then, one of the first nameplates to establish SUVs as family vehicles," said Mathieu Rompré, Ford of Canada's vehicle line marketing manager. "Nearly 35 years later, with more than 8 million sold and now in its sixth generation, the Explorer returns better than ever."
