Kevin Harvick and Brad Keselowski clinched playoff positions based on points. -
Michael McDowell started on the inside of the second row and led 17 laps and won Stage 1. -
He worked his way back into the top 10 after receiving a penalty before a late-race engine issue took him out of contention. -
Buescher, Blaney, Logano, McDowell and now Harvick and Keselowski have all clinched playoff spots with one regular-season race remaining. -
The NASCAR Cup Series heads to Daytona for the Coke Zero Sugar 400 Saturday. -
Cole Custer (seventh) was the top finisher in the NASCAR Xfinity Series after climbing up through the field twice during the race. -
He qualified fourth, started from the rear for repairing an oil leak, overcame being spun twice during the race and also led one lap. -
Custer finished inside the top 10 in Stages 1 and 2 to pick up bonus points, with Riley Herbst also earning points in Stage 1. -
Custer has clinched a playoff spot with Herbst three points above the playoff cut line with three races remaining in the regular season. -
The NASCAR Xfinity Series continues Friday at Daytona. -
Bob Tasca III continued his momentum from last week to make it to the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series semifinals at Brainerd International Raceway in Minnesota. -
Tim Wilkerson advanced to the quarterfinals. -
Tasca was the highest qualifying Ford, repeating last week’s fourth-place seed. -
With one regular-season event remaining, Tasca, Wilkerson and Chad Green all still in contention to enter the Countdown to the Championship. -
Next up on the series’ schedule is the U.S. Nationals Labor Day weekend. -
Donny Schatz finished second in Thursday’s prelim and third in Saturday night’s feature at the Jackson Nationals in the World of Outlaws series. -
He also picked up a top-10 finish on Friday night. -
Next up, the series heads to North Dakota for River Cities Speedway and Red River Valley Speedway Friday and Saturday. -
Ford Mustangs took six out of nine podium positions at the OTR SuperSprint in the Repco Supercars Championship, finishing second through fourth in Races 20, 21 and 22. -
Thomas Randle shined with the fastest opening practice of the weekend, taking the pole position for Race 21 and a podium finish in all three races. -
Supercars officials have not yet made adjustments that provide technical parity. -
Three Fords are top 10 in the standings, with Chaz Mostert fifth, Cam Waters sixth and Will Davison 10th. -
The series will head to Sandown International Motor Raceway in Melbourne Sept. 15-17.
