For the second time, Luz Elena del Castillo and Laura Castro have been ranked among the most influential women in Mexico by Grupo Expansion. The annual ranking from this business media outlet involved more than 250 profiles. Luz Elena del Castillo, President and CEO of Ford of Mexico, Puerto Rico, Central America and the Caribbean was among the top 12. She is the only woman CEO picked from the automotive industry. Laura Castro, who was recently named Director of Operations and of the FBS Commercial Office after serving as leader of the Ford Business Solutions (FBS) Center in Mexico, was ranked 71st.
Grupo Expansion took into account the candidates positions within the company structure and the extent of their responsibilities. The size of the company and the candidate’s trajectory were also factors. Three women have served as president of Ford de Mexico over the last 22 years. These recognitions and that history challenge existing stereotypes and promote gender equality to inspire new generations to seek careers in this and many more sectors. Luz and Laura are examples of the power of leadership being able to inspire and motivate others through a clear vision of what they want to achieve.
