Ford’s Society of Women Engineers team was busy recruiting at SWE’s WE22 National Conference this October. The team was able to attend the event in person for the first time since 2019, and joined more than 14,000 professionals and students in Houston, TX, with an additional 2,000 registered virtually. The Ford career fair booth saw almost 500 people interested in applying to jobs at Ford. Many more just stopped by to check out the F150 Lightning that was on display.
In addition to the career fair, the Ford-SWE team sponsored two other events: a Ride & Drive event where more than 100 attendees had the opportunity to drive an F150 Lightning, Edge, Escape and Explorer, and an info session titled: “It’s Electric! An Inside Look at Ford Motor Company,” which featured 4 diverse women panelists in Product Development and Manufacturing.
At the conference, SWE also celebrated award winners, recognizing individuals and teams that exhibit exemplary behaviors in their communities and careers. The Ford-SWE team was the recipient of the Silver level Professional Mission Award. Ford-SWE recruiting team members Molli Andor and Pramita Mitra received the Distinguished New Engineer Award and Emerging Leader Award, respectively. Ford employees Mitali Chakrabarti Ph.D, Zhenyan Gao Ph.D, Jayanthi Rao Ph.D, Danielle Rosenblatt, and Gabrielle Vuylsteke received SWE Patent Recognition Awards.Ford has been a Corporate Partner with SWE since 1983 and we would like to thank everyone that continues to support our team in the search for top talent, as well as encouraging women in engineering.
